Jo Jung-suk is bringing a zombie comedy to theaters this summer—and it's delightfully chaotic.
The upcoming film Zombie Daughter (directed by Pil Gam-seong) released its first teaser trailer on May 21. The clip follows Jung-hwan (played by Jo Jung-suk), a desperate father who secretly trains to protect the world's last remaining zombie—his own daughter.
🧟♀️ Daughter's a Zombie? No Problem, Dad's Got This
The teaser opens with Jung-hwan pretending to be a zombie to escape a tight spot, showing off Jo Jung-suk's signature comedic flair. He takes his now-zombified daughter Soo-ah (played by Choi Yu-ri) to his mother Bamsun's (Lee Jung-eun) seaside village, hoping to keep her safe and hidden.
Jung-hwan handles Soo-ah's occasional biting urges with calm dad-energy, while their pet cat Aeyong looks on in confusion. His first love Yeon-hwa (Jo Yeo-jeong) also appears—firmly anti-zombie, she quips, "Got any zombies I can wipe out?"
Meanwhile, Jung-hwan's friend Dong-bae (Yoon Kyung-ho), terrified but loyal, joins him on his mission. From zombie etiquette training to dance lessons and "no-biting" drills, the unconventional zombie parenting journey begins.
🤣 Webtoon Come to Life
Jo Jung-suk perfectly embodies the "zombie girl dad" with warm-hearted, situational comedy. The entire cast mirrors their webtoon counterparts with striking accuracy, promising strong chemistry and plenty of laughs with a side of heart.
🎬 Zombie Daughter will hit theaters nationwide this July.
