U.S.-based R&B duo Emotional Oranges has officially denied rumors of a musical collaboration with NewJeans' Danielle.
🎙️ "There Is No Collab with Danielle"
On May 21 (KST), Emotional Oranges posted on Instagram:
"There is no collaboration with Danielle. We were simply helping produce a song for Olivia Marsh, her older sister."
They continued,
"Apologies if there was any confusion — that was never our intention. We hope to see you all on tour soon."
🌀 How the Rumors Started
On May 19, the duo uploaded a photo showing Danielle seated in a studio chair, sparking widespread speculation. The caption read, "Just wait a little longer. Coming soon."
They also included two emoji: an orange (🍊), representing their group, and a bunny (🐰), symbolizing NewJeans.
This led fans and media to assume that a collaboration was in the works.
⚖️ Ongoing Legal Dispute Adds Complexity
The timing was especially sensitive. Danielle and the other members of NewJeans are currently entangled in a legal battle between ADOR and parent company HYBE.
The court has prohibited individual activities for NewJeans members outside the agency's authorization.
The original Instagram post has since been deleted.
