Rapper and former WINNER member Song Min-ho has been officially referred to the prosecution on charges of violating the Military Service Act, following a five-month investigation into allegations of negligent public service duty.
⚖️ Indicted Without Detention for Poor Performance as Public Service Worker
On May 22, the Seoul Mapo Police Department transferred Song Min-ho to the prosecution without detention. He faces charges of neglecting his duties while serving as a social service worker at a public facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from March 2023.
The allegations first surfaced in December 2023, after an exclusive report by Dispatch. According to coworkers and facility employees, Song frequently took sick leave and failed to arrive on time—or at all—for his assigned shifts.
📹 Investigation: CCTV Evidence and Multiple Interrogations
After the report broke, the Military Manpower Administration verified the claims and requested a formal police investigation. Authorities executed a search and seizure of the Mapo-gu Community Welfare Facility and obtained CCTV footage.
Song was summoned three times for questioning. In March, a police spokesperson stated,
"He largely admitted to leaving his post during working hours."

Song Min-ho previously claimed to suffer from bipolar disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety, which he cited as reasons for repeated sick leave. However, public criticism intensified after he was spotted partying multiple times in Goseong and Yangyang, Gangwon Province, during his leave.
The case is now in the hands of the prosecution, who will decide whether to formally indict Song Min-ho for violating military service obligations.
