Actor Namkoong Min is returning to the small screen with a deep, emotionally charged melodrama. In Our Movie, he takes on the role of a brilliant but broken film director, delivering a performance filled with restrained intensity and raw emotion.

SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama Our Movie premieres on June 13 at 9:50 PM (KST). Namkoong Min plays Lee Jae-ha, a once-lauded genius filmmaker who now struggles to make a comeback, weighed down by the haunting thought that his past success was undeserved.

"I worked with Director Lee Jung-heum eight years ago," Namkoong said. "After talking with him about the emotional depth and filming approach, I spent days reflecting—and realized I'd regret turning this down as an actor. The script was just that sincere."

🎭 A Character of Quiet Pain and Subtle Love

Namkoong describes Lee Jae-ha as a man "scarred by emptiness and disappointment," someone who doesn't easily express himself with words but conveys deep love through subtle actions. "He starts to crumble, little by little, only in front of Lee Da-eum (played by Jeon Yeo-been), and that transformation is incredibly moving."

Unlike his previous characters, this one "communicates more through silences and glances than through dialogue," he added. "I paid close attention to conveying unspoken emotion—the kind that simmers quietly inside."
