RM of BTS has earned a major honor at one of America's top three music awards, the American Music Awards (AMAs).

🏆 The Only K-Pop Star to Win Both Solo & Group Trophies

On May 27, the AMAs revealed their 2025 winners via the official website. RM was named the 'Favorite K-Pop Artist', making him the only K-pop artist to have won trophies as both a group member and soloist at the show.

BTS previously swept the 2021 AMAs, taking home Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo/Group, and Favorite Pop Song. They followed up in 2022 with more wins, including Favorite Pop Duo/Group and Favorite K-Pop Artist.

🎧 'Right Place, Wrong Person' Receives Global Praise

RM's solo album Right Place, Wrong Person, released in May last year, received critical acclaim from both fans and music critics. It was listed among 2024's Best Albums by Billboard, Rolling Stone, and NME.

Multiple tracks from the album made the 'Best Songs of 2024' lists. The title track LOST! earned special praise for its artistry and originality. NME gave it a perfect 5-star rating, calling it "a beautiful and fascinating piece of art."

🎬 Sweeping Awards for Music Video Direction

RM also showed his creative range with his music video, which dominated the 2025 Shark Music Video Awards in the UK—winning Best Music Video, Best R&B/Soul Video, and Best Direction.

RM continues to set new standards in K-pop and beyond, earning both industry recognition and fan love across the globe.
