TWICE's Nayeon has released a new digital single—a special cover of Japanese band Ikimono Gakari's beloved hit Kimagure Romantic. And it all started with one unforgettable live stage.

On May 30, JYP Entertainment announced that Nayeon has officially released her cover of Kimagure Romantic. The performance first caught fans' attention during her solo stage at BEAT AX VOL.5, aired on Nippon TV in February. The crowd went wild—and so did the internet.

📈 17 million views and counting

A challenge video featuring Nayeon's rendition was posted to TWICE's Japanese official social media and quickly blew up. As of May 29, the video had surpassed 17 million views, proving the global demand for a full release.

🎶 Original band requested the cover

The most touching twist? Ikimono Gakari themselves reportedly proposed that Nayeon release the song officially. The request was made directly to her label after being moved by her interpretation and the explosive fan response.

📅 TWICE comeback + Lolla headliner incoming

Meanwhile, TWICE is set to release their 4th full-length album THIS IS FOR on July 11 at 1 PM KST. Then, on August 2, the group will headline Lollapalooza Chicago—marking another major milestone in their global career.
