Actor Jung Kyung-ho is back—and this time, he's playing a labor attorney who talks to ghosts. MBC's new fantasy legal-comedy The Labor Attorney No Mu-jin premieres tonight, and it's already turning heads with its unique premise and emotional depth.
🎬 From hospital scrubs to legal briefs—Jung Kyung-ho's next profession
Following hit roles as a doctor in Hospital Playlist and a top-tier tutor in Crash Course in Romance, Jung Kyung-ho steps into the shoes of a 노무사 (labor attorney)—a profession being portrayed for the first time in Korean drama. But this isn't just another workplace series.
"This drama takes a heavy subject—labor rights—and turns it into something entertaining through fantasy elements," Jung said during the May 30 online press conference. "It's not just about the job. It's about Mu-jin's journey of growth."
👻 Labor laws meet ghosts — comic fantasy with social punch
The Labor Attorney No Mu-jin tells the story of a down-to-earth labor attorney who suddenly gains the ability to see ghosts. These restless spirits lead him to unresolved labor issues, and Mu-jin finds himself unraveling each case with heart, grit, and a touch of comedy.
Director Im Soon-rye described Mu-jin as "a man who builds his sense of duty by solving cases one by one. His character deepens as the story progresses."
🎭 A cast of characters as colorful as the cases
- Seol In-ah plays Na Hee-joo, the all-around manager of Mu-jin's office. She's bold, street-smart, and the perfect foil to Mu-jin's clumsy honesty.
- Cha Hak-yeon (VIXX's N) stars as Ko Kyun-woo, a dopamine-driven YouTuber who stumbles into labor activism while chasing views. His dynamic with Hee-joo promises "sword-and-shield" chemistry.
The three form the unofficial "Team Mu-jins," tackling everything from factory site investigations to comic undercover missions—often with slapstick humor and unexpected tenderness.
🎥 From acclaimed films to her first K-drama—director Im Soon-rye leads the charge
Known for critically acclaimed films like Forever the Moment and Little Forest, director Im takes on her first drama here, supported by writer Kim Bo-tong (D.P.) and Yoo Seung-hee (I Can Speak).
"I was hesitant at first—everyone warned me that TV directing is exhausting," Im said. "But being on set turned out to be joyful, not painful." She also teased a star-studded guest lineup including Moon So-ri, Jin Seon-kyu, Kim Dae-myung, and Kyung Soo-jin.
📺 Fast-paced, emotional, and laugh-out-loud funny
The cast unanimously agreed: The Labor Attorney No Mu-jin is a fast-paced, feel-everything kind of drama. "It flies by," said Cha Hak-yeon. "You'll laugh, cry, and be surprised."
Seol In-ah added, "Every scene is packed with meaning—from the story to the acting, it's all tightly constructed."
Jung Kyung-ho concluded, "Each episode has a new client and case. They're not always light—but they come with warmth, meaning, and entertainment."
📅 The Labor Attorney No Mu-jin premieres tonight at 9:50 PM KST on MBC.
