Singer Lee Mujin became the target of inappropriate treatment during a rehearsal, sparking controversy online and prompting an official apology from event organizers.
🎤 The incident occurred on June 4 at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo, held at the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. Lee Mujin was preparing for his performance during sound check when the disruption happened.
💥 According to eyewitnesses and circulating video footage, a staff member interrupted his rehearsal, shouting, "Stop it. What are you doing?" The staff reportedly told Lee that time would be allotted to test audio during the actual performance and insisted he make way for the next act.
😶 Lee was visibly taken aback and stopped singing. Audience members began booing the staff, and the moment quickly went viral online — triggering "power trip" and "mistreatment" allegations.
📣 The event organizer later posted an apology on social media, stating:
"There was a miscommunication among on-site staff during the rehearsal. We sincerely apologize to the audience and fans. The involved staff member has since issued a formal apology to the artist and his team."
💢 Lee Mujin's agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, issued a strong statement, announcing plans for firm action against both the event host and the managing agency to protect their artist.
🗂️ In a follow-up post, the Expo's organizers revealed that:
"The staff member in question was immediately removed from the event operations team. We take the seriousness of the situation very seriously."
📻 Despite the controversy, Lee Mujin is scheduled to perform as planned at the K-Radio Public Broadcast on June 7. He'll appear alongside Red Velvet's Wendy, Lee Seung-guk, Brave Girls, LUN8, BADVILLAIN, Kep1er, Kwon Jin-ah, Ha Sung-woon, and ONF on SBS PowerFM's "Wendy's Young Street."
