"Y2K R&B Meets Heel-Choreo"—KISS OF LIFE Brings Sensual Summer Vibes with '224'

💄 KISS OF LIFE's Bold Return as Summer Queens

KISS OF LIFE is ready to heat up the summer once again—but this time, it's stickier than sweet. Their new title track trades breezy vibes for sultry Y2K-inspired R&B, taking a daring step into mature and sexy territory.

"If typical summer songs are bright and refreshing, we wanted to try something different," said Julie.

The group held a media showcase on June 9 at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul for their fourth mini album 224.

🕰️ Today, Tomorrow, Forever—The Meaning Behind '224'

224 stands for "Today, Tomorrow, Forever"—representing the flow of time. Belle explained, "It tells the story of liberation from a repressed self and finding your identity in the future."

💋 Title Track 'Lips Hips Kiss' Brings 2000s R&B Vibes

Their title track, Lips Hips Kiss, channels early 2000s R&B and hip-hop with a feminine, smooth energy. "The lyrics capture the sensual moment of mutual attraction," Natty said. "It's sophisticated and driven by a punchy kick beat."

The performance featured the group in heels, delivering sexy, confident moves. Haneul smiled, "While preparing for the choreo, I realized just how sexy we could be."

🎧 B-Sides Worth the Hype—Especially 'K Bye'

Members pointed out K Bye as another strong contender for title track. "It has a Y2K vibe with hip-hop drums and layered synths," Belle explained. "It shows off a confident side of us."

Though not chosen as the title, the song offers a bold contrast. "We picked another track to better reflect our direction, but I think fans will love this twist," she added.

✍️ Creative Growth Through Songwriting

The members took part in producing the album. Natty wrote lyrics for Tell Me and Paintings, while Julie contributed to Heart of Gold.

"Tell Me is the brightest song," Natty said. "It's about young love, and I drew inspiration from movies and anime."

Julie added, "We've been increasing our involvement with each album. I get inspiration from my experiences, fellow members, and our fans."

🌊 No Creative Director? No Problem

Although creative director Lee Hye-in, who had been with them since debut, didn't participate in this album, the members embraced the challenge.

"We actually got to voice our ideas more," Julie reflected. "It really helped us grow during the process."

"We want to be known as queens of R&B through this comeback," Belle declared. Julie added, "Most of all, we want people to say the music is amazing—and we hope fans are pleasantly surprised by our new charm."

Lastly, Haneul teased upcoming WATERBOMB stages: "Just like last year, we'll be performing at multiple WATERBOMB festivals. This year, our stage will be hotter than ever."
