Garo Sero Institute under financial pressure after property seizure
The court has placed a provisional seizure on two apartments owned by Garo Sero Institute (Gasiyeon) CEO Kim Se-eui. The request came from the legal team representing actor Kim Soo-hyun.
⚖️ Two Properties Worth Billions Seized
LKB & Partners, representing Kim Soo-hyun, revealed on June 11:
"On June 9, the Seoul Central District Court approved our provisional seizure request on Mr. Kim's two apartments."
The properties in question include:
- Buksan Blooming in Seocho-dong (120.27㎡)
- Hanyang Apt. 4th Complex in Apgujeong-dong (208.65㎡)
The total claim amount is ₩4 billion KRW (~$2.9 million USD), with ₩2 billion requested per property. Only 50% of the Apgujeong apartment was seized, as it is co-owned with Kim's sister. The market value of that apartment is said to be around ₩8 billion KRW.
💳 Gasiyeon's Bank Accounts Also Frozen
In addition, six bank accounts currently used by Kim Se-eui for Gasiyeon broadcasting and fundraising were frozen as of May 20. However, if Kim Soo-hyun's side loses the case, the seizure will be lifted.
📌 "Securing Assets in Case of Victory"
Lawyer Bang Sung-hoon from LKB & Partners told Dispatch:
"We took preemptive action to freeze Kim Se-eui and Gasiyeon's assets, preparing for the possibility of winning the lawsuit."
🔥 Background: Rumors and Legal Action
Back in March, Kim Se-eui claimed on Gasiyeon that Kim Soo-hyun had been romantically involved with Kim Sae-ron since she was a minor. He alleged the information was provided by the late Kim Sae-ron's family.
Kim Soo-hyun's agency Gold Medalist denied the rumors, stating,
"They only began dating after she became an adult."
The agency responded with both criminal and civil lawsuits, suing Kim Se-eui and the family for ₩12 billion KRW (~$8.7 million USD) in damages, and also filed a stalking charges complaint.
