A woman in her 30s has been apprehended by police for defacing public property with graffiti aimed at defaming K-pop legend BoA.
🚨 Suspect Brought in for Questioning
On June 13, a representative from the Seoul Gangnam Police Department confirmed to Dispatch, "At around 10:30 PM last night, we brought in a woman, referred to as Ms. A, for questioning."
Ms. A is under investigation for property damage and defamation. She is accused of leaving offensive graffiti targeting BoA at over 10 locations—including bus stops and digital signboards—across Gangnam, Gwangjin, and Gangdong districts in Seoul.
📹 Caught Through CCTV Footage
Police identified her through surveillance footage and questioned her regarding the motive and details of the crime. She was later released, and no decision has been made yet regarding a follow-up summons.
⚖️ SM Entertainment Responds
BoA's agency SM Entertainment filed an official complaint on June 11. "Spreading false information and acts of defamation are serious crimes," the agency stated. "We will respond with zero tolerance and pursue legal action without leniency."
