ILLIT is back, bolder and brighter than ever—with a magical transformation and fearless ambition.
✨ From "I WILL" to "IT": ILLIT's Identity Evolves
ILLIT's group name combines "I WILL" with the word "IT," signifying endless potential. Their 3rd mini album Bomb puts that meaning into motion, showing how ordinary girls unlock their power through positive energy.
During their media showcase on June 16 at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul, the members revealed just how hard they worked. "We trained so much our throats bled," said Minju. "This album is full of songs we're truly confident in," added Moka.
🎧 Title Track: 'Do the Dance'—A Shy Cat in Love
The album includes 5 tracks:
- little monster
- Do the Dance (title track)
- jellyous
- oops!
- 밤소풍 (Night Picnic)
The title song Do the Dance is a French house-style track, dreamy yet bold. It's a confession song inspired by the Korean phrase "like a borrowed cat," which means acting shy in unfamiliar situations. ILLIT flips it into a confident, youthful take on first-date jitters.
The song stands out with witty lyrics, playful onomatopoeia like "뚜두두두두두 더 다다," and even whispered French phrases. "I practiced so hard to pronounce it naturally. Now it sounds like a magic spell," said Wonhee with a smile.
💃 Stage Performance: Cat Stretch Dance, Magical Vibes
ILLIT's signature "hand dance" evolves again—this time into the "Cat Stretch Dance" or "NyangNyang Dance," inspired by a cat waking up. Their performance included twirls and wand-like movements, capturing the whimsical charm of magical girls.
Their vocals remained strong despite demanding choreography. "We focused on improving our basics and vocal control," said Minju. "We want to show how much we've grown."
🎯 Goal? #1 on Music Bank!
ILLIT's dream is to hit No.1, especially on Music Bank, where Minju is a current MC. "I want to hand the bouquet directly to my members," she said. They hope to build a reputation for being that group: "ILLIT songs are always good. Their stages never disappoint."
"We want 'ILLIT-like' to become a phrase on its own," Minju concluded. "We'll keep paving our own path."
