Rising K-pop group PLAVE just pulled off a major feat—making it into Melon's Hall of Fame with a Japanese-language track.
🎧 'Kakurenbo' Hits 2.7M Streams in One Day
On June 16, PLAVE released their first Japanese digital single Kakurenbo (かくれんぼ). Within just 24 hours, it racked up 2.7 million streams, securing its place in Melon's Hall of Fame—an honor given to albums that surpass 1 million streams within a day. It's the first time a Japanese-language track has reached this milestone on Melon.
🎶 Original Sound, Japanese Soul
The single includes three tracks:
- Kakurenbo (title track, original Japanese song)
- Japanese versions of LEEZ and Chroma Drift
While the B-sides are reinterpreted versions of Korean hits, Kakurenbo was created specifically for the Japanese market. The song reimagines PLAVE's signature band sound through a Japanese pop lens—melodic, sentimental, and uniquely nostalgic.
🎥 Music Video Highlights Youth and Longing
The MV paints a cinematic story of youthful love and bittersweet timing. Set against a backdrop of Japanese summer vibes, it features visual elements like trains, tunnels, and coin laundromats to build immersion and enhance the emotion.
🏟️ Asia Tour Kicks Off This August
PLAVE will kick off their first Asia tour DASH: QUANTUM LEAP from August 15–17 at KSPO Dome, Olympic Park, Seoul. With international momentum building, their next chapter is already looking legendary.
