BTS is officially entering its second act. SUGA is set to complete his mandatory military service on June 21, marking a key moment in the group's full-member return.
💌 No official event, but heartfelt gratitude
BIGHIT MUSIC shared the news on the fan platform Weverse on June 18. "SUGA will be discharged as a social service agent. No official event will take place," the agency said, adding a request for fans to refrain from visiting the site to prevent safety issues.
"We ask for your warm support and encouragement from afar," they wrote. "We are always grateful for the love and support fans have shown to SUGA."
👥 All members are now done with service
With SUGA's discharge, all seven BTS members will have completed their military duties. Jin, j-hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook previously served in active duty, while SUGA fulfilled his service as a public service worker.
🎵 Military break? More like a solo golden era
Each member stayed active with solo projects during the group's temporary hiatus:
- j-hope dropped his first solo album Jack In The Box before enlisting.
- RM released his full-length debut Indigo, followed by Right Place, Wrong Person during service.
- Jimin dropped two solo mini-albums: FACE and the recent MUSE.
- SUGA, under the alias Agust D, released his critically acclaimed album D-DAY.
- Jungkook's debut album GOLDEN became a global hit.
- V showcased his unique style in his solo mini-album Layover.
🎤 BTS reunion already in motion
The group recently gathered for j-hope's encore concert HOPE ON THE STAGE on June 13, celebrating their debut anniversary. Jin and Jungkook even made surprise stage appearances, performing tracks from Map of the Soul: Persona.
