"I drank alcohol, but I did not engage in prostitution."
Ju Haknyeon admitted to meeting with the AV actress. However, he stated that the meeting was limited to a drinking session. He drew a clear line regarding the prostitution allegation. (The prostitution claim was raised by a certain media outlet.)
Ju Haknyeon framed the current situation as a game of truth. Portraying himself as an underdog in the entertainment industry, he appealed, "This society may crumble a person who has nothing, for something he didn't even do."
At the same time, he packaged the situation as a battle of hope — an underdog (himself) who joined a drinking session with an AV actress vs. a powerful company that allegedly pressured him to leave.
"I'm willing to go all the way to reveal the truth. I hope this fight can become a small beacon of hope for someone," said Ju Haknyeon.
What is Ju Haknyeon truly resentful about? What exactly is the agency warning against?
Dispatch revisits the events of May 30 — the day in question — with additional testimony from a source close to THE BOYZ.
When: May 30, 2025
Who: Ju Haknyeon, Male A (a Japanese designer), Male B (designer's acquaintance), Asuka Kirara, Japanese females C, D, E, etc.
Where: Bar (1 a.m.), Karaoke (2 a.m.), Private Room (4 a.m.), Kirara's home (6 a.m.), etc.
What: Ju Haknyeon spent the evening drinking with a Japanese designer and acquaintances — first round at a bar, second round at a karaoke. For the third round, they moved to a private room, where multiple women, including Asuka Kirara, joined. After the drinking session, Ju Haknyeon and Kirara left together in a taxi and headed to her residence. He returned to the hotel (the group's accommodation) in the morning.
How: According to a questionnaire from Shukan Bunshun, Ju Haknyeon and Kirara were seen embracing and displaying physical affection on the streets of Roppongi before taking a taxi to Kirara's home. The outlet requested confirmation of their relationship from the agency.
Why: One Hundred conducted interviews with Ju Haknyeon and other members to verify the facts. Based on Ju Haknyeon's private actions — including drinking with an AV actress, public displays of affection, and unauthorized departure from the group accommodation — the agency judged that these behaviors could negatively impact group activities. As a result, they notified him of contract termination.
To summarize the facts:
① Ju Haknyeon drank with Asuka Kirara.
② He went to her home after the drinking session.
③ He returned to the members' hotel accommodation in the morning.
Ju Haknyeon reportedly acknowledged the events during his first meeting with the agency. He is said to have stated, "I didn't pay. The older guys did. I don't want to cause any more trouble for the members."
One Hundred expressed two major concerns. First, the potential fallout if photos of physical contact with the AV actress were to be made public. Second, if anyone from Ju Haknyeon's group had paid the AV actress or her acquaintances, it could lead to legal issues.
"According to Clause 6, Article 3 of the exclusive contract — 'Any behavior that damages the dignity of a public cultural artist to the extent that it interferes with entertainment activities'…" (One Hundred)
The agency cited this clause as grounds for terminating his exclusive contract. They concluded that drinking with an AV actress and engaging in affectionate behavior in public could negatively affect the group's image — especially given its female-oriented fanbase.
Furthermore, testimony from a member of the group played a decisive role in Ju Haknyeon's dismissal. The member claimed that Ju Haknyeon had "bragged about sleeping with Kirara." Notably, Kirara is reportedly engaged. The agency feared backlash from fans in both Korea and Japan.
"He didn't return to the hotel that night. When we asked where he'd been, he said he stayed at Asuka Kirara's place. He bragged that he slept with her." (Source from THE BOYZ)
"After the decision for him to leave the group was made, he changed his story, claiming it wasn't true. He said, 'I didn't actually sleep with her at her place — I just said that to look cool.'" (Source from THE BOYZ)
Ju Haknyeon has announced his intention to take legal action.
"They unilaterally kicked me out of the team just because I happened to be at a private gathering with a famous person." (Ju Haknyeon)
"This society might become a place where people with nothing are destroyed over things they didn't even do." (Ju Haknyeon)
"If there is any evidence that I engaged in prostitution, please make it public immediately." (Ju Haknyeon)
Right now, Ju Haknyeon is waging a war(?) against accusations of prostitution.
However, the reason for his dismissal lies elsewhere — not in the allegation itself. The agency cited the drinking party with an AV actress, public displays of affection on the street, and unauthorized departure from the hotel as actions that violated the clause about maintaining the dignity of an artist. In short, it's a matter of emotional maturity — or lack thereof — in understanding the responsibilities of being an idol.
Lastly, Dispatch reached out to Asuka Kirara via DM. At first, she clearly stated:
"Apart from my work as a professional (adult film actress), I have never engaged in prostitution. No matter how large the amount offered, I have never received money for sexual acts in a private context."
Dispatch then followed up: "What was the reason you attended the gathering?"
They added, "If there's any misunderstanding, would you be open to an interview? We can come to Japan." However, Asuka Kirara did not respond any further.
