Stray Kids' Japanese Mini Album 'Hollow' Hits Half-Million Sales in Just One Day

Stray Kids are proving their explosive popularity in Japan once again—this time with a record-breaking start for their new mini album.

On June 18, Stray Kids dropped their third Japanese mini album Hollow. Even before its official release, the album sold over 610,000 copies in just one day, following its advance sales opening on June 17.

🧨 Second Half-Million Pre-Release Seller

This marks the group's second time hitting half a million in sales before official release in Japan—following their 2023 EP Social Path / Super Bowl (Japanese ver.).

📈 Tops Billboard Japan & Oricon Charts
Hollow dominated Japan's major music charts. It ranked No.1 on Billboard Japan's Top Album Sales (June 16–22) with over 730,000 units, and also topped the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Oricon Weekly Combined Album Ranking.

The album set a new first-week sales record for Stray Kids and broke the highest first-week sales for any 4th-gen K-pop group in Japan.

🌍 First Overseas Artist to Join Japan's 2025 Half-Million Club

Only three artists have surpassed half a million sales in their first week in Japan this year—and Stray Kids are the only non-Japanese act among them.

🎧 Streaming & Digital Charts Conquered Too

Stray Kids also dominated the digital charts, ranking No.1 on Apple Music Japan, iTunes All Albums, Pop Albums, and K-pop Albums. They also swept the Oricon Weekly Digital Album Ranking.

🎵 All-Original Japanese Tracks by 3RACHA

This marks the group's first Japanese mini album in nearly three years, and the first time every track has been created as a Japanese original. All songs were produced by the team's own producing unit, 3RACHA.

💔 What's 'Hollow' About?

The title track Hollow blends the English word "hollow" (meaning empty) with the Korean word "홀로" (meaning alone). It conveys feelings of emptiness through intense synth leads, electric guitars, and delicate piano lines.
