Actress Kim Hee-sun is making a comeback with a fresh weekend series that dives into the raw realities of women in their 40s.
Kim will star in No Next Life (literal translation), a heartwarming "womance" drama set to air on TV Chosun this November, with simultaneous streaming on Netflix.
🌸 Real Life, Real Emotions: The Story of Three Women at 41
No Next Life explores the joys, regrets, and second chances of three longtime friends navigating life at age 41. Kim Hee-sun plays Jo Na-jung, a once-celebrated shopping host who left behind a high-paying career for marriage and motherhood—and now struggles to reclaim her identity.
She portrays the emotional ups and downs of a woman caught between reality and dreams, setbacks and new beginnings. Her agency, Hinge Entertainment, commented, "This role shows a completely different side of Kim Hee-sun compared to her previous work in My House. The series offers a deeply relatable look at the emotional layers of women in their 40s."
👭 Starring Her Real-Life Besties
Joining Kim are real-life friends Han Hye-jin and Jin Seo-yeon. Han plays Goo Joo-young, a respected art center executive trying to start a family with her asexual husband. Jin stars as Lee Il-ri, a glamorous magazine editor who longs not for luxury, but for love and marriage.
The drama unfolds as the trio face a second adolescence—packed with laughter, tears, and tough life choices. Each woman brings a different perspective to the universal struggles of aging, identity, and friendship.
🎬 Brought to Life by an All-Star Creative Team
Directed by Sung Do-joon of Uncle and written by Shin Yi-won of Green Mothers' Club, the drama promises emotionally rich storytelling backed by nuanced, real-life narratives.
