Jo Byung-gyu is heading back to the big screen—this time, in a role that blends grit, comedy, and high-stakes action.
🎬 'Hidden Money Hunt'—150 Billion Won and One Wild Chase
On June 30, HB Entertainment confirmed that Jo Byung-gyu will star in the upcoming film Hidden Money Hunt (directed by Kim Sol-mae). He takes on the lead role of Kim Ji-hoon, a headstrong and sharp-tongued young man determined to make it big.
The film is a comic action thriller that follows a group of struggling youth who stumble upon a massive criminal fortune—worth 15 billion KRW—and become entangled in a chaotic, unpredictable chase with dangerous foes.
🚚 Meet 'Bongorini' and the Hustler Behind the Wheel
Ji-hoon is a no-nonsense character who postpones his college return in hopes of earning real money. Behind the wheel of his beat-up 1-ton truck—affectionately named "Bongorini"—he dives into the world of cargo delivery and side hustles.
Jo's transformation into a rugged, street-smart underdog is already raising anticipation for his comedic timing and action chops.
🎭 A New Character, Same Sharp Skills
"Jo Byung-gyu is expected to bring depth and charm to Ji-hoon through his signature expressive acting and clever comedic touch," his agency shared.
📺 From Drama Sensation to Big Screen Lead
Jo debuted in Who Are You: School 2015 and rose to fame through hit dramas like SKY Castle and The Uncanny Counter, proving his range in both emotional and genre-driven roles.
🎞️ Coming Soon
Hidden Money Hunt is scheduled to hit theaters in the second half of 2025.
