Rising K-pop rookies take their 'boyhood pop' charm to Japan
🌟 Official Debut in Japan — TWS Makes Their Mark
TWS has officially stepped into the Japanese music scene! On July 2, Pledis Entertainment announced that the group released their first Japanese single, "Nice to See You Again" (はじめまして), marking their official debut in the country.
To celebrate, TWS will hold a debut showcase in Tokyo on the same day, meeting their global fans known as 42 and kicking off full-fledged promotions.
🎶 "Boyhood Pop" Takes Over Japan
The debut single captures the essence of TWS's signature genre — 'boyhood pop'. Like shimmering memories of a summer day, the tracks express the excitement of small moments that feel truly magical.
The title track, "Nice to See You Again," brings out the refreshing innocence of youth. Rather than focusing on just "you" and "me," the lyrics paint a picture of "us"—a shared beginning and a hopeful future.
🌸 A Special Collab + Anime Feature
All eyes are also on the B-side track "BLOOM", which features Ayumu Imazu, a popular Japanese singer-songwriter. He not only wrote and composed the track but also participated as a featured artist. The song has already been selected as the opening theme for an upcoming Japanese anime, further building buzz around their debut.
Fans will also recognize a special track on the album—the Japanese version of TWS's Korean debut hit "Plot Twist" (original title: '첫 만남은 계획대로 되지 않아'), which ranked No.1 on the Melon Year-End Chart in 2024. The new version preserves their signature refreshing energy while bridging both markets.
📺 TV Appearances + Japan Tour Incoming
TWS is set to appear on major Japanese TV programs, including Nihon TV's "DayDay." on July 3, and "THE MUSIC DAY 2025" on July 5. A Japan tour is also in the works, signaling a full-on expansion of their global presence.
With their boyish charm and emotional depth, TWS is ready to become the next big name in J-pop as well. Stay tuned!
