Former THE BOYZ member Ju Haknyeon has been officially cleared of allegations related to prostitution.
🚫 No Charges Filed Due to Lack of Evidence
On July 2, the Gangnam Police Department in Seoul announced a decision not to forward the case regarding Ju Haknyeon for prosecution under the Act on the Punishment of Arrangement of Commercial Sex Acts.
Police concluded that aside from online reports, there was insufficient evidence or concrete grounds to launch a full investigation.
🔍 Allegations Based on Online Rumors
The controversy emerged after a netizen filed a complaint through Korea's public petition platform, alleging that Ju had engaged in prostitution with former Japanese adult film actress Asuka Kirara at a private bar in Tokyo, where payment was allegedly involved.
The claim followed Ju's agency 100's announcement last month that he would temporarily suspend activities due to personal reasons. Media reports quickly speculated on the nature of his alleged meeting with Asuka.
🧾 Ju Haknyeon's Response and Legal Action
While Ju acknowledged meeting Asuka, he firmly denied any allegations of prostitution.
Following the public accusation, he filed a counter lawsuit for false accusation against the unidentified complainant. He also initiated civil proceedings against the media outlet that first reported the claim.
Ju Haknyeon has since terminated his contract and officially left THE BOYZ.
