Actor clarifies real estate move was unrelated to recent legal controversies
🏢 Sold for ₩8 Billion, Purchased for ₩3 Billion
Kim Soo-hyun has sold one of his three Galleria Fore luxury apartments. The property, measuring 170.98㎡ (exclusive) and 232.59㎡ (gross), was originally purchased in 2014 for ₩3.02 billion and recently sold on July 3 for ₩8 billion.
💼 Rumors of Urgency Dispelled
The sale came just days after Kim was hit with a massive lawsuit from a former advertiser, prompting speculation it was a rushed liquidation. However, Dispatch confirmed that the sale had been planned since last year, with a buyer already lined up in advance. Only the signing date was recent.
🏘️ He Still Owns Two Units
Kim still holds two additional 90-pyeong units at Galleria Fore, acquired in 2013 and 2024 respectively. One of these is currently under provisional seizure (garnishment) by medical device company Classys, demanding ₩3 billion in damages. Another ₩100 million garnishment was filed by Malaysian subsidiary CUCKOO International Berhad.
⚖️ Legal Disputes Continue
Kim's legal team maintains that these lawsuits stem from false accusations, specifically targeting claims made by YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute. The channel alleged that Kim had a relationship with actress Kim Sae-ron since she was underage, a claim allegedly based on information provided by her late family member.
Kim has denied the allegation, stating the relationship began only after she became an adult.
📂 Ongoing Legal Action
Kim has filed seven criminal complaints with the Gangnam Police Station, including:
- March 20: Violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (forcible use of images)
- March 24: Criminal intimidation
- March 31: Defamation
- April 1: Stalking
- Additional cases were also filed against individuals claiming to be Kim Sae-ron's relatives.
Despite the filings, the investigation has seen little progress. No suspects have been summoned for questioning. Recently, the police reassigned the investigative team — a decision reportedly made independently of Kim's legal requests.
