Son Ye-jin and Jo Yu-ri are teaming up for a bold new Netflix original series.

🎬 On July 21, Netflix confirmed the casting of Variety, a new thriller drama written and directed by Kim Yong-hoon (Mask Girl). Son Ye-jin and Jo Yu-ri will star in the leading roles.

Variety dives into the dark side of the K-pop entertainment industry. The story follows a powerful entertainment agency CEO and a dangerously obsessed fan, each consumed by their own ambitions and desires.

✨ Son Ye-jin plays Sae-eun, the head of a top-tier entertainment company. Known for her unmatched instincts and planning skills, she built a mega-successful idol group from scratch. Now, she'll stop at nothing to secure their re-signing—pushing her to the edge.

This role marks another major transformation for Son, who is celebrated for taking on vastly different characters with every project. In Variety, she'll portray a woman navigating intense, conflicting emotions in high-stakes situations.

🔥 Jo Yu-ri takes on the role of Seung-hee, an obsessive superfan who will do anything to get close to her favorite idol. Twisted love and hatred drive her character to dangerous extremes.

Jo previously caught international attention through her role in Squid Game seasons 2 and 3, where she played a pregnant contestant named Jun-hee.

According to production staff, "In addition to Son Ye-jin and Jo Yu-ri, the cast includes a mix of veteran and rising actors. Expect a truly 'variety' ensemble performance."
