K-pop icon G-Dragon is taking on a new role—this time, as the face of Korea at the 2025 APEC Summit.
On July 23, South Korea's Prime Minister Kim Min-seok announced the exciting news via his official social media account. "I'm pleased to share a proud moment with the Korean people," he wrote, revealing that G-Dragon has been appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the upcoming APEC summit.

The Prime Minister also shared G-Dragon's official appointment letter, highlighting the artist's cultural impact and creative contributions.
"G-Dragon is Korea's leading artist, known for his relentless creativity and innovation—from shaping K-pop culture to even transmitting music into outer space," the letter stated.
The partnership is expected to create major buzz for the event. "With 100 days left until the summit, please look forward to the synergy between G-Dragon and the 2025 APEC Summit," Kim added.
🌏 A mega global event returns to Korea after 20 years
This year's APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit will take place in Gyeongju, South Korea, from October 31 to November 1. It's the first time in 20 years that Korea will host the prestigious event.
The main theme of the 2025 summit is "Connection, Innovation, and Prosperity." Invitations have already been extended to leaders from 20 member countries, including the United States and China.
More than 20,000 participants—including heads of state, government officials, and global business leaders—are expected to attend.
