JTBC's flagship news program Newsroom is undergoing a major anchor shake-up.
On July 25, JTBC confirmed that Oh Dae-young and Lee Soo-jin will take over as the new main anchors, succeeding Choi Jae-won and Han Min-yong.
The program will also undergo format changes. Signature segments from Oh's previous show Oh Dae-young Live — including the interview segment Direct Questioning and the closing comment Anchor's Words — will be integrated into Newsroom.
A teaser clip previewing the revamp stated, "We start with a question. We will not stop asking until we reach the truth."
Anchor Oh said, "News begins with a question. Through the process of asking and listening, we can get closer to the truth. I'll approach the desk with dignity."
Oh previously anchored Newsroom until November 2022. He now returns after three years, this time also serving as head of the program under the recent newsroom reorganization.
Lee Soo-jin joined JTBC in 2018 after passing a highly competitive 1,500:1 audition. She later transitioned into a reporting role, working in the Social Affairs and Sports & Culture departments.
Expressing her commitment, Lee stated, "I believe democracy begins with sincere questions. I'll approach the anchor role with a spirit of inquiry, always asking 'What do we need to know?'"
The newly revamped Newsroom with Oh Dae-young and Lee Soo-jin will debut on August 4.
