Director Park Chan-wook is making his long-awaited return to the big screen—three years after his Cannes-winning film Decision to Leave.
🎬 'No Other Way' hits theaters this September
Park's latest film No Other Way stars Lee Byung-hun as Mansoo, an ordinary office worker who once thought he had it all—career, family, and the dream home. But when he's suddenly fired, Mansoo must fight tooth and nail to protect his family, his house, and his pride in an unpredictable war for survival.
🏆 Park Chan-wook: Cannes legend, master storyteller
With a Cannes résumé that includes Oldboy (2004, Grand Prix), Thirst (2009, Jury Prize), The Handmaiden (2016, In Competition), and Decision to Leave (2022, Best Director), Park has built a legacy on bold visuals, striking themes, and sharp direction.
🌍 Headed to Venice before it hits Korea
No Other Way has already been invited to the 82nd Venice International Film Festival in its main competition lineup. "This is a story I've long wanted to tell," Park revealed.
🌀 A man pushed to the edge
The film diverges from Park's usual tone—it's more grounded yet no less intense. Mansoo's spiral into desperation as he searches for reemployment leads him to increasingly extreme choices. The story captures a universal fear with Park's signature tension and style.
🤣 More humor, more bite
What sets this film apart is its ironic sense of humor. "In my previous works, humor was subtle," Park said. "This time, it's much more explicit."
No Other Way opens in Korean theaters this September.
