Singer-Actress to Take the Mound for Kiwoom Heroes
First-Ever Baseball Pitching Appearance
Choi Yoo-jung, singer and actress, is gearing up for her first-ever ceremonial first pitch at a professional baseball game. She'll take the mound on August 3 at 2 p.m. KST at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, during the KBO League match between Kiwoom Heroes and Lotte Giants.
Though it's her first time pitching, Choi previously participated as a batter at a Doosan Bears game in 2018. Now invited by Kiwoom, she's aiming to bring luck to the home team as their "good luck charm."
"Excited and Grateful," Says Choi
Choi shared her thoughts ahead of the big moment: "Thank you so much for inviting me. I'm nervous since it's my first time pitching, but I've been practicing hard so I can enjoy it with everyone."
Her agency also added, "Yoojung's bright and positive energy will bring not only a winning vibe to the stadium but unforgettable memories for both fans and players."
Busy with Music, Acting, and Now… Baseball
Aside from her sports debut, Choi Yoo-jung continues to stay active in the entertainment scene. She's currently performing in the musical "42nd Street", which recently opened in Korea.
