A Fresh Take on a Beloved Hollywood Hit
Veteran actor Choi Min-sik and rising star Han So-hee have officially joined the cast of the upcoming Korean film The Intern, directed by Kim Do-young.
According to the Korean Film Council's official site, the production is currently in pre-filming stages and will begin shooting next month.
Han So-hee as Jules, Choi Min-sik as Ben
Han So-hee will play the Korean version of Jules Ostin, originally portrayed by Anne Hathaway. She takes on the role of a passionate CEO who launched a successful online fashion company within just one year.
Opposite her, Choi Min-sik steps into the role of Ben Whittaker, a 70-something senior intern—originally played by Robert De Niro—who brings life wisdom and warmth to the fast-paced startup world.
Korean Remake of 2015 Hit
The film is a remake of the 2015 Hollywood favorite The Intern, directed by Nancy Meyers. The movie was a box office hit in Korea, drawing over 3.6 million viewers upon release.
The story is a human comedy centered on the unlikely partnership between a driven young CEO and a kind-hearted senior intern who changes her outlook on work and life.

Choi Min-sik is keeping busy with upcoming releases including the films In Our Prime 2, No Choice, and the drama The Boy in the Back Row. Han So-hee will soon appear in the highly anticipated movie Project Y.
