Two of Korea's biggest stars, Jun Ji-hyun and Gang Dong-won, are set to deliver powerful on-screen chemistry in the upcoming Disney+ original series Polaris.
🎬 First Look Stills Reveal High-Stakes Action and Intrigue
On August 4, Disney+ released the first official stills from Polaris (written by Jeong Seo-kyeong, directed by Kim Hee-won and Heo Myeong-haeng), teasing intense performances and gripping plotlines.
The story centers around Moon-ju (played by Jun Ji-hyun), a UN ambassador with global recognition, who begins chasing the truth behind an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate. Alongside her is San-ho (played by Gang Dong-won), a mysterious special agent tasked with protecting her.
Together, they uncover a massive conspiracy threatening the Korean Peninsula. The stills capture the duo caught in a dangerous web of secrets and survival.

As the story unfolds, suspicions and trust collide between Moon-ju and San-ho, while surrounding characters add complexity to the narrative.
- John Cho appears as Anderson, a U.S. State Department official with a stern presence in high-level White House meetings.

📅 Release Date and Format
Polaris premieres September 10 on Disney+, with the first three episodes released on launch day. The series will continue with two new episodes weekly, concluding with a total of nine episodes.
