Singer Bada has issued a public apology following backlash over a false advertising controversy involving a skincare product.
🙏 Handwritten Apology Shared on SNS
On August 5, Bada posted a handwritten apology on social media. "I sincerely apologize for the disappointment caused by a product I introduced on YouTube," she wrote.
The controversy stemmed from a recent YouTube video in which Bada promoted a wrinkle-reducing cream from brand M. She claimed it was a popular Australian product, but it was later revealed to be a Korean brand—prompting accusations of false advertising.
📹 Clarification on Her Remarks
Bada acknowledged her misstep, saying, "Before participating in the content, I should have reviewed it more carefully. I deeply regret and reflect on my lack of due diligence."
She also addressed her misleading statement: "I said, 'I first saw this product in Australia, and it was really famous there,' which caused confusion. I apologize."
💬 Agency's Response & Legal Action
Her agency, Wave Nine, also issued a statement: "There was no intention to deceive or mislead consumers. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and mistrust caused."
According to the agency, the video was filmed based on a script provided by an external production company, and Bada was not briefed in advance. The video has since been made private, and the agency confirmed that they terminated their partnership with the YouTube channel and requested removal of all related content.
