On August 5, the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) announced the recipients of its prestigious TIFF Tribute Awards. Lee Byung-hun joins Hollywood icon Jodie Foster, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, and director HIKARI as one of the four honorees this year.
TIFF organizers said, "We're proud to recognize Lee Byung-hun's commanding talent. He is a global star who has achieved remarkable success in both Korean and Hollywood cinema."

The Tribute Award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the film industry. It includes actors, directors, and other creatives who shape global cinema. The ceremony will take place on September 7, marking TIFF's 50th anniversary.
🎬 Park Chan-wook's 'Out of Necessity' joins TIFF lineup
Lee Byung-hun's latest project Out of Necessity has also been officially invited to screen at TIFF. It will mark its North American premiere at the festival after debuting at the Venice International Film Festival on August 27.
The crime thriller follows Mansu (played by Lee Byung-hun), an ordinary office worker who suddenly gets fired and becomes entangled in a desperate job-hunting struggle.
Directed by Park Chan-wook, the film is already drawing attention for its signature visual style and compelling direction. The cast also includes Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yeom Hye-ran.
