BigHit Music has officially denied rumors that BTS participated in a Michael Jackson tribute album, stating clearly that the claims are groundless.
On August 5, the agency released a notice via official social media channels, stating, "The recent reports are not true. BTS has never visited Grouse Lodge Studio in Ireland nor conducted any recordings there. The claim that they took part in a Michael Jackson tribute album is entirely unfounded."
Responding to global misinformation
The company added, "We are actively responding to prevent the spread of inaccurate information. We thank all fans for their continued support and will keep doing our best to support BTS's activities."
The rumors gained momentum through online forums and social platforms, where it was claimed that BTS had recorded for an album featuring unreleased tracks by Michael Jackson. Some international fan communities even stated that BTS had completed the recording, making the speculation appear credible.
As a result, "Michael Jackson x BTS" trended globally on X (formerly Twitter) on the morning of August 4, further amplifying attention.
Clear denial in multiple languages
BigHit Music addressed the controversy directly and promptly, issuing statements in both Korean and English to minimize confusion among global fans.
BTS comeback scheduled for next year
Meanwhile, BTS is preparing for a full-group comeback next year, following the completion of all members' mandatory military service. Their recent live album Permission to Dance on Stage – Live debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, reaffirming their global dominance in the music scene.
