I-DLE lights up "Korean Heritage Night" with TOMBOY, WIFE & ceremonial first pitch
⚾ I-DLE makes MLB debut at Angels vs. Rays game
On August 5 (KST), K-pop girl group I-DLE made a special appearance at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, during the LA Angels vs. Tampa Bay Rays game.
The group was invited as part of Korean Heritage Night, performing a celebratory pre-game concert and participating in the ceremonial first pitch.
🎤 First K-pop pre-game performance at Angels Stadium
Before the game began, I-DLE performed their hits "TOMBOY" and "Wife," heating up the stadium with their bold energy. This marks the first-ever pre-game stage by a K-pop group at an LA Angels home game—setting a new milestone for global K-pop reach.
👏 Yuqi throws the ceremonial first pitch
Following the performance, Yuqi stepped onto the mound for the ceremonial first pitch. She confidently delivered a windup throw straight into the catcher's mitt, adding to the celebratory spirit.
"It was such an honor to throw my first pitch at an MLB game," said Yuqi. "Thanks to [former MLB pitcher] Kim Byung-hyun's coaching, I was able to pull it off. I'm also happy we got to perform—it was a meaningful experience."
🌏 Next stop: Macau
I-DLE is scheduled to perform next at 'All the K-pop Stage in Macau' on August 9, held at the Venetian Arena.
