🔫 Gun-crisis meets character-driven action
Trigger is a gripping action thriller centered around a gun crisis in South Korea, where illegal firearms suddenly flood the country. The story follows two men who take up arms for very different reasons—leading to a tense and explosive confrontation.
Kim Nam-gil stars as Lee Do, a seasoned police officer with expert gun-handling skills. His relentless pursuit to protect civilians from firearm chaos becomes the emotional backbone of the series.
🌍 Critics praise fresh premise and restrained action
Global critics have lauded the series for its original setup and emotional depth. American magazine TIME wrote, "If this were made in the U.S., it would be just another action thriller. But in Korea—where gun laws are strict—the premise feels fresh and unique."
On Rotten Tomatoes, Trigger earned a 100% critic score, highlighting its high production quality and storytelling finesse.
Kim Nam-gil emphasized the human side of the series: "This isn't a story about guns—it's a story about people," he shared. "I minimized unnecessary movements to keep the action grounded and intentional."
