CORTIS hints at bold creative vision with name reveal and self-produced content
A New Generation from BigHit Music
BigHit Music is officially launching its next rookie boy group. On August 7 at midnight (KST), the label opened new social media accounts for the team and revealed the group's name: CORTIS.
The name "CORTIS" is derived by irregularly combining six letters from the phrase "COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES"—a concept meant to express thinking freely beyond rules and norms. The group is expected to showcase innovative content that reflects this creative mindset.
A Creative Tease on TikTok
True to its name's message of originality, CORTIS took an unconventional approach to the reveal. The members dropped a "logo sound" teaser on TikTok, which they produced themselves. In the video, their group name appears inside a real music production program, layered with mysterious sounds that spark curiosity.
Fans also got a sneak peek at the five members through another behind-the-scenes video, where the group is seen immersed in producing music inside a studio full of audio gear.
Debut Set for August 18
CORTIS will officially debut on August 18. All five members are in their teens and plan to contribute creatively in songwriting, composing, and choreography—earning them the nickname "young creator crew" even before their debut.
