BRANDNEW MUSIC has announced a pause on all schedules, including album releases and social media activity, in tribute to the late Lee Min (real name Lee Min-young, 46).
The label shared on its official SNS on August 7, "With deep sorrow over the sudden loss, we will temporarily suspend official SNS operations to honor his memory."
Album Releases and Events Postponed Amid Grief
BRANDNEW MUSIC also confirmed the postponement of a planned digital release scheduled for August 7, with further updates to follow. Lee Soo-bin, former LOONA member Eve, was set to drop her third EP Soft Error on the same day, but the release has been delayed out of respect for the mourning period.
The agency expressed condolences, stating, "All employees are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic news, and we extend our heartfelt sympathies."
Funeral Arrangements and Industry Condolences
Lee Min's funeral will be held at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital Funeral Hall 2 starting at 9:30 AM on August 8, with the burial scheduled at Yongin Peace Forest on August 9 at 5:30 AM.
Lee Min was found deceased at his home on August 5, discovered by his husband who immediately reported to authorities. Police are currently investigating the circumstances.
Many prominent figures in the Korean music industry, including As One's Crystal returning urgently from the U.S., and artists like SES's Eugene, Shinhwa's Kim Dong-wan, Park Hyo-shin, and comedian Moon Se-yoon, have expressed condolences with wreaths and messages.
Legacy of Lee Min
Lee Min debuted in 1999 as part of the vocal duo As One. After marrying a Korean-American in 2013, he continued active music activities, most recently releasing the single Happy Birthday in June 2025.
Context: The sudden passing of Lee Min has deeply affected the K-pop community. BRANDNEW MUSIC's decision to halt activities reflects the industry's respect and mourning culture during times of loss.
