JYP Entertainment has officially reintroduced its U.S.-based girl group under a new name—GIRLSET. Formerly known as VCHA, the group will now move forward as a four-member act, signaling a fresh chapter in their global journey.
From VCHA to GIRLSET
On August 7, JYP unveiled a rebranding teaser film and a new logo for GIRLSET. Members Lexi, Camila, Kendall, and Savanna are now set to promote under the revamped name as they prepare for renewed global activities.
The new teaser film showcased an expressive, cinematic vibe—featuring moments of joy, vulnerability, and self-reflection. The clip ends with the phrase, "We're setting who we are," capturing the group's vision of self-definition and limitless potential.
JYP explained the meaning behind the new name: "'GIRLSET' represents a group that defines its own path and future without limits."
A New Direction After Setbacks
Originally debuting as VCHA, the group was formed through a joint project between JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, under Universal Music Group. VCHA made their pre-debut in September 2023 as a six-member team.
However, the lineup changed over time. Member Kaylee halted activities in March 2024 due to health concerns, and KG withdrew from the group and filed for contract termination with JYP in December of the same year.
The group's last activity as VCHA was in March 2024 with their second single, Only One.
With a refreshed name and redefined identity, GIRLSET is poised to reenter the global pop scene with a new sense of direction and unity. Fans are now looking forward to what the new quartet will bring to the evolving landscape of international K-pop.
