"A Hundred Memories" Premieres September 13: Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun Take on Retro Bus Attendant Roles
by. ymchoi

Kim Da-mi and Shin Ye-eun are stepping into nostalgic roles as bus attendants in JTBC's upcoming weekend drama A Hundred Memories, set to premiere on September 13 at 10:40 PM KST.

On August 7, the drama released its first teaser poster featuring the two lead actresses dressed in vintage uniforms and berets, capturing the essence of 1980s Korea. The tagline, "Departing now, all right!" recalls the signature phrase used by bus attendants to signal departure, evoking a sense of nostalgia for viewers familiar with the era.

A Youth Melodrama Set in the 1980s

A Hundred Memories is a retro-themed youth melodrama centered on friendship and first love. Set in the 1980s, it follows Go Young-rye (played by Kim Da-mi) and Seo Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun)—bus attendants navigating life, dreams, and romance as they encounter Han Jae-pil (played by Heo Nam-joon), the son of a department store CEO who becomes their shared first love.

In Korea's past, bus attendants—exclusively women—handled fare collection, customer service, and passenger safety on board. Their distinctive uniforms and signature berets were iconic symbols of the time.

Cast and Characters

Kim Da-mi plays Go Young-rye, a model bus attendant on Bus No. 100 of Cheong-A Transport. Despite struggling with motion sickness, she works hard daily to support her family and dreams of attending university.

Shin Ye-eun takes on the role of Seo Jong-hee, an outgoing and lively character full of charm. She builds a strong friendship with Young-rye while yearning to escape her troubled home life.

Heo Nam-joon portrays Han Jae-pil, the privileged yet emotionally scarred heir of a department store. His rebellious nature reflects the inner pain he hides behind a golden façade.

From the Creators of "Crash Course in Romance"

The script is written by Yang Hee-seung, known for hit dramas like Crash Course in Romance, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, and Oh My Ghost. Directing is Kim Sang-ho, who previously helmed Thirty-Nine.

A Hundred Memories will air every Saturday and Sunday on JTBC, starting September 13.
