Ailee has been invited to perform at a special cultural event tied to the G20 Summit, marking a milestone as the first K-pop solo artist to hold a concert in South Africa.
On September 6, Ailee will perform at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria as part of the "Ubuntu with K-Culture: Korean Cultural Festival." The event is co-hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in South Africa, the Korean Cultural Center, and KOTRA, in celebration of the upcoming G20 Summit in November.
Ticket Sell-Out Signals Rising Popularity
Tickets for the Korean Cultural Festival sold out immediately upon release, reflecting strong local interest. Ailee's powerful vocals and hit soundtracks, especially her chart-topping OST I Will Go to You Like the First Snow, have significantly boosted her popularity among South African audiences.
Her agency A2Z Entertainment shared, "We're thrilled by the opportunity to meet K-pop fans in a region where cultural exchange is often limited by geography." They added, "As this is a meaningful stage, we are preparing a setlist that will fully showcase the charm of K-pop."
Expanding Her Global Footprint
In addition to the South Africa performance, Ailee is scheduled to hold a solo concert in Los Angeles on August 16, and she will also appear as a judge on SBS-TV's Global Veiled Musician.
Ailee's participation in this international stage further solidifies her position as a leading K-pop soloist with a growing global presence.
