Mark of NCT has made a meaningful donation to support children living in protective care facilities, expanding emotional and social outreach programs for those in need.
On August 7, Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association announced the expansion of its child support initiative "By Your Side", which aims to help children in protective facilities feel remembered and cared for on special occasions. The organization credited Mark's ₩100 million (approx. $76,000) donation in April as a key factor in scaling up the project.
Making Special Days Truly Special
Mark's donation will help ensure that children in care facilities don't feel left out during birthdays, Children's Day, Christmas, and other milestone events. The funds will go toward gifts and emotional support programs designed to build self-esteem and a sense of belonging.
Customized experiences such as summer vacation activities, graduation parties, ski camps, group outings, a 3-day trip to Jeju Island, and seasonal travel programs will also be provided.
A Quiet Philanthropist
Hope Bridge's Secretary-General Shin Hoon emphasized the impact of the initiative, stating, "Knowing there's an adult who remembers their special day gives children the strength to develop self-worth and emotional security." He added, "Together with our Honor Society donors, we will continue striving to bring more warmth to more children."
Mark is a member of the Honor Society, a distinguished donor group. Known for his humility, he has consistently donated without seeking publicity. In March, he quietly contributed ₩100 million for wildfire recovery efforts.
His April donation came shortly after the release of his first solo album, "The Softest Touch," as a gesture of gratitude for the overwhelming love and support he received from fans.
