Netflix's original animated film "K-pop Demon Hunters" (a.k.a. KDAH) continues its unstoppable global run, officially ranking 4th in Netflix's all-time most-watched movie list.
According to Netflix's official Tudum stats released on August 6 (covering the period from July 28 to August 3), the film recorded 26.3 million views in a single week, with a total viewing time of 43.8 million hours.
A Record-Breaking Animated Hit
Since its premiere on June 20, K-pop Demon Hunters has reached a cumulative 158.8 million views (264.6 million viewing hours), trailing only behind Netflix blockbusters like Red Notice (230.9M), Carry On (172.1M), and Don't Look Up (171.4M).
Unlike typical click-based metrics, Netflix counts only views where 70% or more of the film was watched, meaning these numbers reflect genuine engagement from viewers.
Notably, KDAH is the only animated title among Netflix's top action/thriller-dominated movie rankings—a rare achievement for an original animated film rooted in K-pop culture.
Global Dominance Continues
As of its 7th week post-release, KDAH maintains massive global traction. According to FlixPatrol, the film is ranked No. 2 among global English-language movies, showing no signs of slowing down.
It's currently in the Top 10 in 93 countries, holding the No. 1 spot in regions like the U.S., Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Malaysia, highlighting its broad international appeal.
Previously, KDAH became the most-watched Netflix original animated film of all time, surpassing the former leader, Leo.
Billboard Success for the Soundtrack
The film's OST is also dominating music charts. On the Billboard Hot 100 (dated August 9), a remarkable eight songs from the KDAH soundtrack entered the chart simultaneously.
Two songs made it into the Top 10:
- Golden landed at No. 2
- Your Idol secured No. 9
The full KDAH OST album also debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, reinforcing the project's crossover success in both the film and music industries.
