Kim Hyun-joo to Portray an Aunt with a Secret Past
On August 7, film production company A Moment in Film confirmed Kim Hyun-joo's casting in Little Life, directed by Kim Yong-cheon. Filming is scheduled to begin on August 13.
Little Life is a human drama centered around a young girl who discovers the hidden truth behind her parents' death, and the aunt who takes her in while struggling with guilt. Kim will take on the role of Ja-young, the aunt harboring a painful secret while trying to care for her niece.
A Delicate Performance Worth the Wait
This marks Kim's first film role since the 2023 Netflix original JUNG_E, where she portrayed a former soldier turned experimental subject. Known for her emotionally detailed acting, she has previously made a strong impression in works like Hellbound, Undercover, I Have a Lover, and Cara.
Child actress Park Soo-ah will play Eun-ha, the niece who is left to survive on her own. Rising star Kang Hye-won has been cast as Bora, Eun-ha's close friend.
A Story About Resilience in Harsh Reality
Director Kim Yong-cheon shared his vision for the film: "I wanted to tell a story that believes in the quiet strength of children who push forward despite a tough reality."
The release date for Little Life has not yet been announced.
