NCT's agency is cracking down on sasaeng (invasive fan) activity to protect artists' privacy and safety.
Label Issues Strong Warning on Fan Behavior
On August 7, Neo Production posted a notice titled "NCT Fan Etiquette Guide" on the fan platform Weverse. The statement emphasized the need for a mature and respectful fan culture.
The agency cited recent issues at airports, where some fans attempted physical contact, engaged in unauthorized filming, or tried to strike up conversations with members—raising serious safety concerns.
In particular, fans boarding the same flights and attempting to approach NCT members in the cabin have become a growing issue. "From now on, delivering letters or gifts at airports or during flights will no longer be allowed," the notice stated.
Illegal Use of Personal Info and Private Schedule Stalking
Neo Production also addressed cases of fans using private information to change or cancel flight bookings. "Unauthorized use of personal data for flight seat changes or cancellations could result in legal claims for damages," the agency warned.
They urged fans to stop visiting airports based on leaked immigration schedules or intentionally boarding the same flights as artists.
Additionally, the agency asked fans to refrain from attending unofficial schedules or approaching private spaces such as hotels or residences, citing disruption to operations and potential harm to artists.
Other prohibited behaviors include:
- Blocking artists' vehicles
- Acquiring or trading personal data such as ID numbers or phone numbers
- Any form of privacy invasion
Legal Action Against Violators
Neo Production emphasized that legal measures will be taken against any form of stalking, privacy breaches, or other illegal activity to ensure the artists' safety.
NCT members have spoken out multiple times about sasaeng-related distress. Member Haechan previously suffered a break-in at his residence, and Renjun took a six-month hiatus due to anxiety related to persistent invasions of privacy.
