K-ballad star returns to TV with music and healing vibes ahead of album release
New variety show captures peaceful island life
Lim Young-woong is set to appear in Island Bachelor Hero, a new SBS-TV variety show premiering on August 26. The program follows the singer as he leaves the city behind to experience everyday life in a quiet seaside village. The show highlights his slower, more reflective side as he adjusts to life surrounded by nature and community.
Unreleased track featured as official theme song
Lim's new song, part of his highly anticipated second studio album IM HERO 2, will be featured as the theme for the show. Fans will get the first listen to the track on Island Bachelor Hero, ahead of the album's official release. According to producers, the song will be revealed alongside a beautifully shot music video filmed by the ocean, aiming to offer viewers both emotional warmth and healing.
Close friends join the journey
The show will also include appearances by Lim's close friends—popular science YouTuber Orbit, chef Lim Tae-hoon from Netflix's Black and White Chef, and actor Lee Yi-kyung. Their natural chemistry and laid-back banter are expected to add a fun and unexpected dynamic to the island experience.
A healing experience for everyone
According to behind-the-scenes reports, the cast grew emotionally attached to the island during filming, with Lim even commenting that the place began to feel like a second home. Island Bachelor Hero airs on SBS at 9 PM KST starting August 26.
