JYP's revamped global girl group signals bold new era with summer anthem
GIRLSET is returning with their first release since rebranding from VCHA.
On August 7, JYP Entertainment announced via social media that GIRLSET will drop their new single Commas on August 29 at 1 PM KST. Alongside the announcement, the group unveiled striking visual teasers hinting at a powerful transformation.
Bold Visual Shift and Star-Studded Production
GIRLSET's cover images showcased a fierce new concept, styled in black and red tones that amplify their charisma. A teaser video revealed a snippet of the title track Commas, previewing a refreshingly cool summer vibe.
The single is produced by hitmakers Tommy Brown and Theron Thomas, renowned for working with global stars like Justin Bieber and Doja Cat. Expectations are high for GIRLSET's fresh musical direction and global appeal.
From VCHA to GIRLSET: A New Identity
GIRLSET is the rebranded version of former global girl group VCHA. The new name reflects the group's ambition to define their own limitless future without constraints.
The lineup has also shifted. Originally a six-member team, GIRLSET is now a four-piece. Member Kaylee halted activities in March 2024 due to health concerns, and KG officially left the group in December after mutually agreeing to terminate her contract.
Looking Ahead
JYP stated, "GIRLSET is set to shine with diverse activities and global reach. Please keep an eye on their journey."
Their upcoming release Commas is scheduled for August 29 at 1 PM KST.
