K-pop boy group adds another RIAJ-certified record to their growing list of achievements
TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) has earned a Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their 4th full-length album The Name Chapter: TOGETHER, just two weeks after its release.
TXT Continues Strong Streak in Japan
On August 8, RIAJ announced the latest batch of certified albums. TXT's The Name Chapter: TOGETHER surpassed 250,000 in sales, earning Platinum status. In Japan, RIAJ certifies albums based on shipment milestones: Gold (100K+), Platinum (250K+), Double Platinum (500K+), Triple Platinum (750K+), and Million (1M+).
With this, TXT has now received Gold Disc certifications for a total of 14 albums — 6 in Korea and 8 in Japan. Their first Gold certification came in 2020 with Magic Hour, followed by Platinum in 2021 and Double Platinum in 2022.
Record-Breaking Growth and Chart Success
Last July, the group's Japanese single Chikai surpassed 750,000 copies sold, making TXT the only foreign artist to achieve Triple Platinum status in Japan that year.
Their latest album also topped Japan's Oricon Daily Album Ranking (August 6). The Japanese version of the title track "Beautiful Stranger" ranked No.1 on both the iTunes Top Songs chart and Oricon's Daily Digital Single Ranking.
Globally, the group is seeing continued momentum. According to Billboard's latest update (dated August 9), the album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. It also secured the top spot on Billboard's Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, and World Albums charts.
World Tour Kicks Off in Seoul
TXT is set to begin their 4th world tour, ACT: TOMORROW, with two opening shows at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on August 22–23.
