Actor Jung Kyung-ho is making his long-awaited return to cinemas in the upcoming film The Boss, set to premiere during the Chuseok holiday season.
Star-Studded Cast for a Comic Action Ride
On August 11, the production team revealed the film's main cast, which includes Jung Kyung-ho, Jo Woo-jin, Park Ji-hwan, Lee Kyu-hyung, Oh Dal-su, Lee Sung-min, and Hwang Woo-seul-hye. Directed by Ra Hee-chan, The Boss is a comic action film about gang members who, ahead of electing a new leader, fiercely compete—and sometimes step aside—for the sake of their own dreams.
Gangster with a Tango Dream
Jung Kyung-ho plays Kang Pyo, a member of the "Sikgu Clan" who decides to give up his chance at becoming boss to pursue his unexpected dream of becoming a tango dancer. Jo Woo-jin stars as Soon-tae, the gang's second-in-command and head chef at the Chinese restaurant Mi Mi Ru, who also passes on the boss title to focus on expanding his restaurant into a franchise.
All-Out Competition for the Boss Seat
Park Ji-hwan takes on the role of Pan-ho, the gang's number three, and the only one who desperately wants the boss position. Lee Kyu-hyung appears as Tae-gyu, an undercover cop working as a deliveryman at Mi Mi Ru, adding layers of suspense to the comedic chaos.
First Poster Hints at Quirky Fun
The newly unveiled poster shows three men partially hidden behind a shutter, holding distinctive props such as a gas can, a butcher's knife, and a wooden sword—sparking curiosity about the story's unpredictable twists.
According to the production team, The Boss will be "a film that everyone can laugh and enjoy together," promising a high-energy comedy powered by some of Korea's top actors.
