ILLIT is turning up the excitement ahead of their Japanese debut with the pre-release of "Topping," a track from their upcoming first single Toki Yo Tomare. The song dropped at midnight on August 11 across major music platforms.
"Topping" playfully captures the emotions of a girl before her first date — from seeing hearts everywhere to feeling like she's in a special, dreamy world. The track was partially unveiled earlier as the background music for Lacoste Japan's sneaker collection commercial, where its upbeat melody drew positive feedback.
The song also gained buzz for its collaboration with Japanese singer-songwriter Noa, who co-wrote and composed the track, blending ILLIT's youthful vibe seamlessly into the music. Fans got their first taste of the performance during ILLIT's fan concert in Yokohama on August 10, where the group charmed the crowd with a bright and lively stage.
Noa made a surprise appearance as a guest, joining ILLIT on stage for "Topping" and adding to the energy with a perfect live synergy that had the venue buzzing.
ILLIT is set to make their official Japanese debut on September 1, with their first single capturing moments of youth they wish would never end. The release will include four tracks, including the title song and "Topping."
The group will continue the second day of their fan concert ILLIT GLITTER DAY today.
