Actor Rowoon's latest project will meet audiences at the Busan International Film Festival.
Walt Disney Company Korea announced on August 11 that the Disney+ series Tackryu (written by Chun Sung-il, directed by Choo Chang-min) has been invited to the 30th Busan International Film Festival's "On Screen" section.
Exclusive Premiere for Highly Anticipated Series
The "On Screen" section showcases the year's most anticipated drama series ahead of their official release, offering audiences a first look through premiere screenings. Tackryu will make its global debut here, meeting domestic and international viewers for the first time.
Action Drama Set in Joseon-Era River Port
Tackryu is an action drama about forging one's destiny, set in Gyeonggang, a bustling river port where all goods of the Joseon era converge. The story follows individuals with different dreams who unite to overturn a corrupt world.
Writer Chun Sung-il, returning 14 years after The Slave Hunters, penned the script. Director Choo Chang-min, known for the 2012 film Masquerade, takes the helm for another historical production.
Star-Studded Cast
Rowoon plays Jang Si-yul, a gang leader at the ferry dock. Shin Ye-eun portrays Choi Eun, the head of Joseon's most powerful merchant guild. Park Seo-ham appears as Jung Cheon, an officer of the police bureau.
Tackryu will be available on Disney+ starting next month.
