Singer Lim Young-woong is set to release a highly anticipated, high-quality album—this time in a groundbreaking new format.
On August 11, his agency Fish Music unveiled the timetable for his second full-length album IM HERO 2 via its official website. The schedule includes the tracklist reveal on August 18, album retail details on August 20, a music video teaser on August 25, and the full MV release on August 26.
First in K-pop: No CD, Only an Album Book
In a bold move, Lim has decided to halt the release of physical CDs entirely, opting instead for an album book containing photos, messages, and other special content. This decision, aimed at reducing environmental impact and easing financial pressure on fans, marks the first of its kind in the K-pop industry. The album book will not be counted toward official album sales charts, drawing further attention to its unconventional approach.
His agency stated, "We fully share and support Lim Young-woong's heartfelt intention. Though the format has changed, the emotions and sincerity remain."
Busy Months Ahead
Lim Young-woong will also connect with the public through his nationwide tour and variety show appearances. Starting in Incheon this October, he will visit Daegu, Seoul, Gwangju, Daejeon, and Busan.
The new album IM HERO 2 will be released on major music streaming platforms on August 29.
