HYBE is set to debut its Latin boy group, accompanied by a reality series showcasing the selection process.
HYBE Latin America announced on August 14 that the reality series Santos Bravos will premiere on YouTube at 9 a.m. KST on August 15. The series will also be available across multiple platforms: starting August 16 on Spotify, and from August 17 on the U.S. OTT service ViX and music channel EXA TV, with new episodes releasing weekly.
Santos Bravos introduces the HYBE training system to Latin America for the first time. Sixteen trainees, selected from Mexico, the U.S., and other regions, competed in the series. The final debut lineup, sharing the series' name, will follow in the footsteps of CATS EYE, a group formed through The Debut: Dream Academy.
Local anticipation for Santos Bravos is already high. Tickets for the fan experience exhibition HYBE Experience sold out quickly, and over 150 global brand representatives along with roughly 100 local media personnel attended The Drop event.
The project features top global talent: Kenny Ortega, director of Disney's High School Musical, serves as creative director; Israeli composer Johnny Goldstein, known for collaborations with Shakira and BTS' J-Hope, is the main music producer; vocal coach Laav Stevenson oversees vocal training; and Colombian creator Jaime Escalón leads as executive producer.
